My passion for steel and the world of steel started in 1982, when I started working for Klöckner Trading Company in The Hague and a spark struck. I learned a lot there about all possible long and flat products. In addition to working with Klöckner mills, I have also been able to work with steel producers and rolling mills throughout Scandinavia, England and Italy.

When Fundia Steel, the long products division of the Finnish Rautaruukki wanted to implement its strategy with its own staff, I became managing director of Fundia Steel B.V. and thereby responsible for sales in the Benelux countries. Not long after, Rautaruukki brought its flat products activities in the Benelux under the same roof and the company was renamed, first to Rautaruukki Benelux B.V. and not much later to Ruukki Benelux B.V.

In 2012, I was appointed Director Hot and Cold Rolled Strip Products at Ruukki Metals Oy, Finland. Since the merger between Ruukki and SSAB in 2014, I have held various positions within SSAB Europe as Product Group Manager Hot Rolled Strip Products and Senior Product Manager. In recent years, mainly with a focus on market & sales development and product development projects with customers.
